Driving through rural Ohio last fall in the early morning, I passed a quite a few barns that have me rubbernecking, and doing a few screeching to stops and backing up so I can photograph them. I do pay attention to the traffic, but there wasn't much, thank goodness. Looking at them makes me feel peaceful and still.

Canada Geese in Spring
Canada Geese used to fly south in the winter, but since we didn't have one this year here in Toronto, the livin' was easy for these guys and gals. Even though they are more and more are considered pests, (no natural predators, lots of nesting places and food sources, and breed like crazy), I think they are gorgeous. I never get tired of looking at them, so naturally I wanted to paint them. I plan to do more.

Daybreak
Early morning is my favorite time of day. It holds such wonderful potential.
This rural painting is from a photo that I took while driving through Ohio last fall. I live in a large city, so I love to drink in the countryside when I can.
