I go to the lake almost every day to walk dogs, and the light is always beautiful. There is wildlife that I notice every day including swans, gulls and I occasionally see mink swimming in the water.
This rock, protruding from the lake, frequently has a gull perched on it.

Ruffled Feathers
Happy New Year!
This little gull was basking in the sun in the Atlantic ocean about a year ago of Hilton Head, S.C. Birds are so appealing, and all the colours of nature are so harmonious. I guess that is why artists have been attracted to it since they depicted animals and their relationship to nature on cave walls millennia ago. I'm no exception.
I love the reflections in the water. I struggled with it for quite a while before I got was I was after.

Laughing Gull
I am not sure what kind of gull this is, but I am told there are many kinds. This one I photographed on the beach in Hilton Head when I was at the wonderful Karin Jurick workshop last November. Just got around to painting it last week, and I will display it at my upcoming juried show, the Riverdale Art Walk in Toronto.
