Skyride

There is something about rides where your legs are dangling that really appeals to me - it's a kind of freedom!
This is from the "Ex" in Toronto.

Red Light

This is the main drag of the Junction neighbourhood in Toronto where I live.  At the twilight time of day just after the sun dips below the horizon, there is a wonderful light show combining the sky, streetlights and traffic lights. I am always struck by it, and is never exactly the same from day to day.

This is a study for a larger painting. I zipped through it fairly quickly (I love that), but then I decided that it needed a few more brush strokes. Big mistake. I ended up doing the sky over again! When will I learn to leave things alone!
I am happy with it now, but it was pretty good before I decided to "fix" it.

Big Sky from a Small Back Yard

This is the miraculous view on occasion when I am letting my dog out first thing on some summer mornings.  I have painted this and a few other different morning images before, but I can't seem to get enough of them! I should live on the prairies where there is nothing but sky!

So Inviting

I loved this doorway in Charleston, S.C. The terra cotta flower pots, the wrought iron, the stucco and the red door was so pleasant and inviting. I could have moved right in!
