Tezedar in the Morning
I did this little painting as a Christmas gift for my neice, who is turning out to be a horse nut just like me, to the chagrin of her parents. She is nine, a perfect age to instill the love of horses into her.
The painting is of Tezedar, my beautiful arabian horse at age 5 when I bought him. He was frolicking in the field at about 6:00 one summer morning. He died at age 28 in 2001. I had owned him the whole time.
My neice Katie was thrilled with the gift.

Horses are really my favorite subject. I have always been horse crazy, and I feel a need to explore the beauty of them in my art. It sounds a bit corny, but it is authentic to me.
"In the Distance" 8" x 10" oil on masonite.
This is me at a friends studio. We get together every few weeks to paint, talk about art and critique each others work. Our dogs have a nice social time too.
